What I keep, and why

Last updated 8 October 2026.

Who I am

SurplusRoute is a surplus stock finder and a trading name of Dailycart LLC, a company registered in the United States. Dailycart LLC is responsible for the information described here. You can reach me at samturner@surplusroute.com, and I'll answer any question about it.

What I keep

The form also stores your country and browser type, and a scrambled code made from your internet address so I can block spam. I don't keep the internet address itself.

Where it comes from

From you, from your company's own website, and from public business records such as Companies House and the Food Standards Agency's register of food businesses. Where your work email isn't published, I may work out its likely format and check it with an email-checking service before writing to you.

Why I use it

To write to companies that may hold surplus stock, to answer you, and to introduce you to a trade buyer if you want me to. My legal basis is legitimate interests: contacting businesses about a service relevant to their work, by email, with an easy way to say no. I only write to work addresses about business matters.

Who I share it with

I don't sell your details to anyone.

How long I keep it

Contact details are kept while I'm still writing to companies like yours, and reviewed at least once a year. If you ask me to stop, I keep only your email address on a do-not-contact list, so I never write to you again by mistake. Details of a stock deal are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require.

Your choices

You can ask me to stop writing to you, to show you what I hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Reply to any of my emails or write to samturner@surplusroute.com. I act on a request to stop straight away.

If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
