Stock that isn't moving? I'll put it in front of a trade buyer.

I'm Sam. I work with companies holding surplus, slow-moving or short-dated stock, and introduce them to trade buyers who take it in one lot. I don't buy stock myself, and there's no upfront cost to you.

I'm a finder, not a trader. I introduce you to a buyer, then step back. Price, payment and collection are agreed between you and the buyer, directly.

How it works

Four steps, and you can stop at any of them

Nothing moves without your say-so. If the offer isn't right, you say no and that's the end of it.

  1. STEP 1

You tell me what you have

Product, quantity, where it is, dates or condition, and a few photos if you have them.

  2. STEP 2

    I check it over

If anything is missing, I ask for it in one email, not ten. Then I put it to a trade buyer.

  3. STEP 3

    I introduce you

If the buyer is interested, I put you in touch and they make you an offer. If not, I tell you straight.

  4. STEP 4

    You decide

You and the buyer agree price, payment and collection between you. Your stock, your call.

What I look for

Stock that's worth more to someone else than to your warehouse

Food and drink first, plus most kinds of boxed goods.

Food and drink (ambient)

  • Tins and jars
  • Dry goods, sauces, seasonings
  • Snacks and confectionery
  • Soft drinks, beer, wine and spirits
  • Pet food

Non-food

  • Household and cleaning
  • Health and beauty
  • Electricals
  • Toys and gifts
  • Clothing, footwear, hardware

Usual reasons

  • Short-dated
  • Discontinued line
  • Old labels or packaging
  • Overstock or a cancelled order
  • Storage costs adding up

Chilled or frozen? Ask anyway. I'll tell you plainly if it isn't a fit.

Questions

Straight answers

Do you buy the stock?

No. I'm a finder. I introduce you to a trade buyer, and the deal is between the two of you.

Does it cost me anything?

There's no upfront cost. My fee normally comes from the buyer's side, and if that ever changed for a particular lot, I'd tell you before you agreed to anything.

Is there a minimum?

No fixed minimum. Very small lots can be hard to place, because transport eats into what they're worth. Tell me what you have and I'll be honest about it.

Will you share my details?

Only with a buyer, and only once you've told me you want to go ahead.

Why did you email me?

I write to companies that hold stock every so often, in case something is moving slowly. If it's not for you, reply and say so, and I won't write again.

Where did you get my details?

From your company's website or public business records. The privacy notice says what I keep and how to have it removed.
